The family business was founded in 1970 by Eduard Marx, a trained toolmaker, who was born and raised to the level of perfection from an early age, Everything began in a quiet garage, The first orders quickly increased and the foundation for Marx Metallschleiferei was made.

Today the company is in the 2nd generation. Together with his wife Annette, Gerhard Helmer took over the company in 2000.
